Zelda - glass platter in amethyst glass with iridescent square pattern
A touch of glamour for your home … a glass platter made in amethyst transparent glass with a geometric square grid pattern. The squares are clear iridescent glass so they shine with a subtle gold-bronze shimmer.
Meet Zelda. My latest creation. A fine looking piece of understated glamour. A shallow fused glass square platter with a seductive amethyst coloured base decorated with a grid pattern of subtle squares with an iridescent finish with a lovely golden bronze sheen that shimmers in the light.
What’s unusual about this piece is that at certain angles, eg. holding the piece upright - the squares will disappear as they are made of clear glass with an iridescent finish.
The piece is 26x26cm square with gently sloping sides and a curved base that allows for some movement. (If a stationary base is preferred, small rubber stops can be provided which can easily be affixed to the base to ensure the platter sits securely on your chosen surface.)
This would make an attractive but subtle statement on a sideboard, kitchen counter, dining room table or bedroom. Anywhere you wish to draw the eye or highlight in your room.
It would make a lovely gift for a wedding or anniversary, or for a new home. It would easily fit into a contemporary decor or a more eclectic mid-century modern or art deco home. Perfect in every way!
This is a reworking of one of my popular designs and the base colour is inspired by the heather on heathland in Suffolk in late summer. The use of the clear iridescent glass adds a subtle glamour and reminds me of the jazz-age style.
